Meh on Battle Mage Farmer
Magical isekai wild west is a premise that should have printed fuc**** money and been wildly, wildly popular. Instead we get something almost impressive in how mediocre and "meh" it is. The pacing and ability to stay on plot is truly some of the most abysmal I've ever come across though, the main character will talk about doing something as soon as possible and then doing literal side quests for 4 days before he's forced to react. Things just happen for no real reason at all. The main character is a tortured ex-soldier, and the main side character is a survivor of the exact war he fought in on the side that victimized her. This should have been a wildly captivating storyline and is such an interesting idea that they just do not take advantage at all. The secondary side character is an absolute nothing burger, that truly contributes nothing to the story including his intended role as young brevity and youthful joy and comedy. Instead he comes across as a constant annoyance and someone extra for the mc to "bond" with or take care of, which is a tall ask considering the mc's best friends are a cow and elderly sheriff that he essentially let's die because of the stories refusal to make him actually prioritize tasks. It's got decent art, and is good trun your brain off entertainment, but that's all it is and all it ever will be.
