I thought This story is just pure comedy but it makes me cry a lot 😭 tho it was comedy at first with deeper meanings. Then turns to serious and a bit of reality. i love the plot and the characters although they make me stress and made me cry and it is fcking worth it!!!!

Rocks on The Villainess Lives Twice
🏅
I despise similitudes, but this is the Game of Thrones of Korean mangas. Hi, I'm Ivern, and I'm hypocrite. You already knew that, uh?
Let's move along now and do away with the housekeeping: the art is good. It actually is plenty fine. The real problem comes when the scan quality drops, but it's not the artist's issue. A similar reasoning can be made for the writing. It is impressive. Let's be clear: it's straightforward, not overly complex, direct and clever. Some strokes of impersonal narration complete the frame. But the translation does sometimes cheapen it. It's not that bad, or too frequent, I've seen worse, but it's there.

The real stars here are the characterization and the plot. FL in particular, while being subject to some of the usual tropes, clearly shows why and how she comes to her choices. Her personality is calculative, driven, strong and feeble at the same time. In practice, a female Moriarty. She is surprisingly innocent, but also ruthless in other aspects. And she's believable in all of them: truly a realistic portrait of an extremely abused, extremely clever person. The same could be said for the rest of the cast, especially Cedric, but the extraordinary thing is how they are used for the plot.
It's rare to find a historical romance focused on politics and story events. Even harder to find such as this that isn't boring. Sure, we do have romantic development, but the key point here is Tia's plan, her infinite resourcefulness and her growth from a tool to a person, without ever forsaking who she is, without ever forgetting. Or forgiving. It's a truly good story, one where intrigue reigns supreme.
I'm recommending it, it's a great read. It is true that maybe it could better balance the rhythm between the emotional and the political parts, but when it goes high it reaches unheard peaks in both. And it did so for 140 [REDACTED] chapters, for now. So I'm giving it the GAI (Grand Accolade of Ivern); it is extraordinary, after all.
