Rocks on Love Stage!!
i personally really liked this. usually, i don't like bl manga. i much prefer manhua and manhwa, but i really liked this manga!
this manga is about an otaku born into a show-biz family. izumi is put into a commercial as a replacement for the girl who couldn't make it for a marriage house as a young child. he was put with child actor, ryouma. izumi had to dress as a girl, which made ryouma develop feelings for izumi as a child. at the time, ryouma believed that izumi was a girl. then 10 years later, they meet again for a 10th anniversary remake for the same commercial. ryouma still believes that izumi is a girl, but later learns that he's actually a boy. at first, ryouma is appalled and runs away in denial of his feelings for izumi. ryouma then returns and tells izumi to strip for him because ryouma thought that if he saw izumi nude as a man, his feelings would disappear. izumi refused but ryouma ended up forcefully stripping him and ryouma's desire for izumi only got stronger. he finally gave in and decided his feelings for izumi were there to stay.
this story does have explicit content and SA. the relationship between izumi and ryouma is quite realistic in terms of arguing and loving. the art was really good and reminded me of another mangaka's art style! there were a lot of stupidly funny things in here that made me giggle, lots of second-hand embarrassment that made me throw my phone, and cute scenes that made me flail around like a fish out of water. and that's why i loved it! it had the perfect combination between an actual story and lovey-dovey s** scenes. i haven't watched the anime yet (as of 7/30/23), so i can't compare it to that just yet, but i will update this review when i do finish the anime.
overall, this had a great story, cute chatacters, and good relationships! you should totally read it, happy reading!
