Pretty good on Get Out of Entertainment Circle
Reading Chinese manwha is like eating an hamburger. You know it's bad for you. You know that its production probably involved an industrial quantity of torture and gore. And you know your arteries are getting clogged by the minute. ('cause of the rage)
And you still do it. Because göddamnit, sometimes you just need to stuff trash in your mouth and, by Göd, you gonna like doing it.
In this case, the guilt is somehow relieved by the fact that we got a proper main character. FL is a nice person. A rational person. She, in a world of slapping bîtches and domineering assh****, makes sense. Because she is written like a real human being and not an overpowered plot propeller with rockets affixed under her bütt. A breath of fresh air that will definitely make you love this.
The rest of the cast sadly falls a bit short of her. ML is... a child. No, not in the problematic way. The figurative way. Thank göd, but also fück, strap in, we gonna endure some unbelievable tantrums. He starts pretty good, too: a hurt person who somehow needs to deal with an extreme change in his ex wife. But as FL said: "the original body owner must have driven him mad". I mean, if you like possessive booger-eaters, you might enjoy him. *glares at you with disgust*
The antagonists are just a cavalcade of clichès, not even fun ones, not even worth to be elaborated on.
For the technical, we got a somewhat okayish art and a pretty decent translation, which improves your standard stock Chinese melodrama writing quite a lot.
I honestly like it a bunch, just for what it is. A juicy dramaburger. The tale of an exasperated woman dropped into a world of batshit insane cretins. I would've snapped, but I enjoy seeing a proper adult dealing with this mess. A 8+ on the Ivern Scale™️, could've benefitted from better art, and it would've been a great one in the genre.
